Miltos Logiadis

Miltos Logiadis is an internationally acclaimed Greek conductor, former Music Director of the Orchestra of Colours, and Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Ionian University. He has collaborated with leading European orchestras and opera houses and recorded extensively for major international labels.

Miltos Logiadis was born in Athens. He studied music theory and piano at the National Conservatory of Greece, where he was awarded a First Prize and a Diploma of Outstanding Achievement. With a scholarship from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation, he continued his studies at the Munich Academy of Music under Fritz Schieri, Max Frei, and Hermann Michael. He graduated with diplomas in choral and orchestral conducting, as well as a Meisterklasse diploma.
 

During his studies, he served as an Assistant Professor, conducting the Madrigal Choir and, in parallel, the Choir and Orchestra of the Catholic University Community (KHG). He later served as chief conductor at the Ulm Opera for two years. In 1992, following an invitation from Manos Hadjidakis, he assumed the position of Music Director of the Orchestra of Colours, a role he held until 2011.

He has conducted and recorded works by Astor Piazzolla, Giannis Christou, Nikos Skalkottas, Petros Petridis, Giannis Konstantinidis, Giorgos Koumendakis, among others. His interpretations are documented in an extensive discography released by labels such as Naxos, Verve, EMI, Sony, Seirios, and others.
 

He has conducted, among many ensembles, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of London, the Bavarian Radio Orchestras, the Hamburg State Opera Orchestra, the Royal Danish Opera Orchestra, as well as all major Greek state orchestras, including the Athens State Orchestra, the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra, the Hellenic Radio Television National Symphony Orchestra, Camerata, and the Nikos Skalkottas Ensemble.
 

He is Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University. At the Greek National Opera, he has conducted, among others, The Runaways of the Chessboard by Giorgos Koumendakis, The Magic Flute, A Straw Hat of Florence, Alcina, The Marriage of Figaro, Così fan tutte, and Il Trovatore.
